Day 11: Prayers for Joy

"The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but he delights in the prayers of the upright." Proverbs 15:8

Day 11: Joy

"Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!" Psalm 47:1

True joy is not dependant upon circumstances, it is dependant only on the hope and peace of Jesus and our salvation. It is beyond any happiness the world can provide. An overflowing of our hearts, as if they will simply burst. Let us pray that our sons will have a true, lasting joy that is only found in Christ. I pray that the countenance of their faces will reflect an amazing peace and happiness that is undeniable to all who see it. I pray that no matter what is going on that they can sit on the couch at the end of the day with a heart that is so full that there is no denying the presence of God in their lives.

Lord, We pray that our sons will be filled with your Spirit, that the joy of their salvation will be so consuming that there is no denying You in their lives. Lord, may they be able to face any challenge, any disappointment, any fear knowing that they are safe and secure in you. May they turn from the fleeting, unfulfilling happiness that the world has to offer and instead take upon them the complete and perfect joy that comes from you. May we approach our lives with such joy that our circumstances will be a witness to you always...

AMEN.
